Musings on issues of the day
I spent a great deal of my adult life working with non-partisan organizations attempting to effect rational change in United States federal fiscal, monetary, tax and economic policies. When the global financial meltdown occurred in 2008 and still nothing was done by our so-called leaders, I finally realized that I was simply beating my head against the wall for no good reason.
It was then that I GAVE UP AND LEFT
I have been an expat happily living abroad ever since that rude awakening. The perspective one gains from seeing the United States and western civilization through a distant prism is at once both revealing as well as frequently disturbing.
My goal as I entered retirement was to spend a great deal of time reading and writing-- not necessarily a book or anything for public consumption but mainly just as a way to collect my thoughts with an emphasis on American history, politics, religion and philosophy. Somehow I never got around to doing that. Until now.
